English Plants

England is not a dangerous place. A canadian friend was bragging about how dangerous her native land was with poisonous snakes, bears, wolves and so on. Five minutes later she fell into a patch of stinging nettles (Urtica dioica) and discovered for herself that even English nature has a bit of bite left.

However, on the whole she is right. We are blessed with a begnin landscape full of wonderful plants that are great to eat, smell or simply admire.

Bluebells are a beautiful native species, much loved by the English
