English Archaeology
Archaeology evolved where there were artifacts being found in the soil and England has a wealth of artifacts.
Many famous treasures can be found in the British Museum but there are hundreds of smaller museums around the country that are full of archaeological remains.
From paleolithic flints, through to bronze age jewellery, Iron age hillforts, Roman Camps, medieval villages, Elizabethan towns and Victorian cities, there is so much archaeology in this country.
The Council for British Archaeology
works to involve people in archaeology and promotes the appreciation
and care of the historic environment.
