England has many wonderful attractions, so which are the ones you cannot afford to miss? Here is our list of England's top 10 Attractions.

1) Windsor Castle

To understand british history and Monarchy, a day trip to royal Windsor is an excellent start. The world's largest continually occupied castle sits on the bank or the thames just 20 miles upriver from London. Come and see the changing of the guard and then wander through 1000 years of british history. See where Shakespeare wrote "The Merry Wives of Windsor", see the guildhall where Prince Charles married Camilla and enjoy dinner in one of the excellent local restaurants.

2) London Eye

Get to the top of London and see the city spread before you like a map. Opposite Parliament the huge wheel, like some giant's bicycle, sits on the riverbank, gently revolving. Take a ride on the London eye and see the capital from above. The wheel was originally intended to just stand for one year in 2000ad, but its popularity has ensured it has become London's newest iconic landmark.

3) Roman Baths, Bath

2,000 years ago the warm spa waters of Sulis attracted local worshippers. Then the Romans came and turned them into a massive Bath complex which has survived down the centuries. Recently rennovated, these baths are one of the world's best preserved Roman artifacts, equaling the finest remains to be found in italy. One of the wonders of the world and set in the glorious city of Bath, which with its stunning Georgian architecture is itself considered one of England's most beautiful and vibrant places to visit.

4)Eden Project, Cornwall

A series of massive domes house the country's largest and most impressive botanical attraction. A kind of environmental theme park, there really is nothing else like it.

5)Hadrian's Wall, Northumberland

The wall built in 122, during the rule of emperor Hadrian, to mark the northernmost extent of the Roman Empire and act as a barrier to attacking tribes from the north.

It runs across the entire width of the island and was once a massive construction wath parts of it 6 metres high and three metres wide. The fort at Vindolanda is probably the best part of the wall for visitors because of the wealth of information available at the open air museum, though to come across Hadrian's Wall in wilder areas of Northumbris and Cumbria is also a rewarding experience.

6)Longleat House, Wiltshire

A beautiful mansion, home to Lord Bath and his family for hundreds of years is worth a visit in itself. However the added attractions of England's best known safari park make Longleat a top attraction. Come and see the Lions, Sealions, Giraffes, Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos and lots lots more. The huge maze is perfect for losing yourself in for an hour or two.
