Since the rennaisance England has been one of the countries that led the way in scientific discoveries.
In medicine, flight, physics chemistry and most noteably in biology and botany, England has been at the forefront in gaining an understanding of the world around us.
However it was in putting this knowledge to use that we really excelled, and with a doffed cap to the Scots men of science who perhaps even more than the English deserve recognition for their scientific industry, the British exported the Industrial Revolution to the entire world.
