Avebury
One of the most spectacular villages in England, Avebury is completely enclosed within a prehistoric stone circle. If you thought Stonehenge was impressive, a trip to Avebury will blow your mind. Avebury is ten times larger than its more famous neighbour, 20 miles to the south.
Avebury's 98 stones encircle almost 30 acres of land and outside the stones is a massive ring ditch that is up to 10 metres deep. The stones themselves are massive, weighing up to 40 tons each.
