Staffs is a famous industrial county considered to be the home of the world's industrial revolution.

In the north and in the south of the county the ground is hilly. Cannock Chase is designated as an area of natural beauty in the south of Staffordshire.

The rest of the county is largely flat and was once blackened by the production of coal which was a major industry in the region.
