Not technically a county, but the capital city offers so much to visitors. London really is one of the world's greatest cities.

London's top tourist attractions
1. British MuseumThe amazing British Museum houses some of the world's treasures. objects including the Rosetta Stone, sculptures from the Parthenon (the Elgin Marbles) and the Portland Vase sit alongside British finds from prehistoric, Roman, Anglo Saxon and more recent times.
2. National Gallery
The National Gallery offers free access to a world-class collection of
European painting up to 1900, the collection includes work by
Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Gainsborough, Turner, plus a
fine selection of impressionist art.
3. Tate Modern
A new free gallery on the south bank of the river Thames, Tate Modern is
Britain's national museum of modern art. There is always something new
to excite the senses at Tate Modern.
4. The British Airways London Eye
A 30 minute ride on this great ferris wheel gives you the opportunity
to take in London's historic skyline. It is the world's highest
observation wheel.
5. Natural History Museum
A grand old victorian temple to the natural sciences, the Nat Hist. at South Kensignton hosts a permanent dinosaur exhibition, plus favourites such as
a life-sized model of a Blue Whale, a 40 million year
old spider, an earthquake simulator and the skeleton of the whale that swam up the thames in 2005.
6. Science Museum
Next door to the Natural History Museum the massive and totally wonderful science museum has over 40
galleries and is free for visitors.
7. The Tower of London
The royal castle built 900 years ago by William the conqueror. The The Tower of London has been a royal palace and fortress, prison, place of execution,
mint, arsenal, menagerie and jewel house over the years, and now we can add top tourist attraction to the list.
8. Tate Britain
Tate Britain is the national gallery of British art from 1500 to the
present.
9. The Victoria & Albert Museum
A victorian homage toart and design, the museum is home to amazing artefacts from many of the world's richest cultures.One of England's treasures.
10. The National Portrait Gallery
The gallery is next door to the national gallery on the north side of trafalgar square. It features historical portraits of well known
British people. They manage to change the displays regularly and so is worth repeated visits.
